About Surry Opera Company

I am a passionate and dedicated writer who loves to create content that is both informative and engaging. I believe that good writing can change the world, and I strive to make a positive impact through my work. Walter believed the same that music could bring peace to the world.

In 1987, during the cold war, Alexandra, on a singing

tour to the Republic of Georgia, USSR, found

herself transported, through the Georgian music, to

the fourth century AD, in a mystical journey full of

mystery, romance, martyrdom, and ultimate faith

that brought Christianity to that country.

Marie's story is woven into the tapestry of The Surry Opera Company in Surry Maine.  Her book The Vine and the Cross is her story. The Surry Opera Company was an amateur group based in Surry, Maine, notable for its cultural exchange missions during the cold war, with the USSR, Republic of Georgia, and Japan, calling themselves "People of the Earth Together in the late 1980s and early 90's. Videos from their archives are being digitized by the XFR Collective and made available for historical access.
